Worldwide removals by sea freight
For moves outside Europe we ship by sea freight container, with shared (groupage) and sole-use options and 20ft or 40ft containers loaded at your door. We move customers to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, the Middle East and beyond. Your quote includes an estimated transit window for your route at the time of booking.

Airfreight from Cheshire

Post-Brexit, moves from the UK to the EU need export declarations and, for some destinations, proof of residence or import permits. We prepare the UK-side paperwork and give you a clear list of documents to obtain at your destination. At the receiving end, our BAR Overseas partner agents handle local customs clearance, so you are not left to navigate it alone. For worldwide moves, customs requirements vary by country, so we flag the destination-specific requirements at survey and point you to the relevant consular resources for anything outside our scope.
Export packing for international moves
International transit is harder on packaging than a domestic move. Our trained use double-walled cartons, specialist fragile wraps and timber crating for items that need extra protection, so artwork, antiques, electronics and glassware are packed to international freight standards. All materials are supplied: boxes, tape, bubble wrap, packing paper, fragile labels, wardrobe cartons and timber crates where required. Packing can be done the day before loading, or over two days for larger properties.
Storage before shipping
If your UK move-out date and your shipping date do not line up, we can bridge the gap with . Your belongings are loaded into sealed containers at your Cheshire property and held securely at our depot until the shipment is ready, with no double-handling at a third-party warehouse. This is containerised storage, so your items stay sealed until they ship rather than sitting in a unit you visit.

Goods-in-transit cover is available for international shipments, and we recommend every international customer insures for the full replacement value of their goods. 3. Freight, customs and transit
Your container or consignment ships to destination. We handle all export and import documentation in-house. You’ll have tracking updates at key milestones – departure, arrival, customs clearance and delivery window.
4. Delivery and unpack at destination

- Sea freight, sole-use container: around 3 to 6 weeks for most European and Atlantic destinations, and 6 to 10 weeks for Australia, New Zealand and the Far East
- Sea freight, shared container: add 1 to 2 weeks for consolidation at the UK end
- Air freight: typically 3 to 7 working days, depending on routing and destination customs
